A New Hand Mixer – KitchenAid 9 Seed

2+

We bought a new hand mixer finally! It is KitchenAid 9 Speed. I gave more than enough time…. say nearly one month to do research….More I did research, more indecisive I became as there are so many choices, and prices are just so different. The before we had in New Zealand was something I quickly bought from a local supermarket store. It did a good basic job for the price (about NZ$30-40) although it was quite noisy and took a while to whip. It lasted for 10 years during my entire life in NZ while I used once or twice a week.

Here are what I listed up.
1. Powerful to knead a small amount of bread dough, and quick to whisk.
2. Not so noisy.
3. Speed options
4. Cable can be set for left handed.
5. Coming with dough hooks.
6. Not so heavy. (If it is powerful and quick to knead or whip, this is not so important.)
7. Looking good.

I decided to go with KitchenAid 9 speed as it meets most of my criteria, probably apart from the weight. Also they have red!

Since then I have used 5 times, and I am very happy with our choice. It is not noisy, and not vibrating my hands much. You can select the speed you like from 9 options, and I think mixing cake dough with this hand mixer may be better than my hand work with a spatula. This hand mixer is going to be my friend for a long time!
